Frequently Asked Questions
What's my antique worth? Can I find out online for free?
Yes. Send us clear photos through our online valuation form or by email, including any marks or signatures, and we’ll give you a free auction estimate. There’s no obligation to sell.
How do I get antiques valued online?
Photograph the item from several angles, with close-ups of any maker’s marks, hallmarks, labels or damage, and note its size. Then send the photos through our online form.
What is the most profitable way to sell antiques?
For good-quality or collectable pieces, auction usually achieves the best price because buyers compete. For everyday items, a mixed lot at auction or a house clearance may be more practical. We’ll advise you honestly.
What antiques do you sell?
Bronzes, clocks, ceramics, glass, silver, jewellery, watches, pictures and a wide range of collectables. If you’re unsure, send us a photo.
Do I have to sell after a valuation?
No. Valuations are free and there’s no obligation to sell.
Do you help with probate and house clearance?
Yes. We provide probate valuations for executors, and house clearances where saleable items are sold at auction before the rest is cleared.
When will I be paid?
Once the buyer has paid, we pay you the hammer price less our commission and any charges, within 7 days of your lot being dispatched to, or collected by, the buyer.
