Lot 120: Audio Equipment, hi fi PHILIPS MAGNO-CONTROL LONG LIFE FSX HEADS N4520 reel to reel
2 viewsSold for: £275
What They Are
Magnetic heads are the components inside a cassette deck that physically contact the tape to record and play back audio.
“Magno-Control” and “FSX” were Philips marketing terms/designations used on some models of cassette decks, indicating a particular type or series of head technology used at the time.
“Long Life” implies an intended improvement in durability compared to earlier standard heads, though real-world reports suggest they weren’t dramatically more wear-resistant than typical permalloy types.
Fully working at the time of inspection.
