Cookies are small files that websites save in your web browser. This page explains, in plain English, which ones we use and how you can say no.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

The short version: we only use the cookies needed to run the website, unless you say yes to more. Saying no won’t stop you browsing, registering or bidding. Change your cookie choices

Cookies we always use

These are needed for the website to work, so they can’t be switched off. They:

  • keep the website safe from hackers and spam
  • keep you signed in to your account and to online bidding
  • remember the lots you are watching
  • remember your cookie choice, so we don’t keep asking

Cookies we only use if you say yes

  • Analytics (Google Analytics). These tell us how many people visit and which pages they look at, so we can improve the website. We can’t see who you are.
  • Marketing (Google Ads). These tell us whether our Google adverts are working, for example if someone clicked an advert and then asked for a valuation.

If you don’t say yes, none of these are used and nothing is sent to Google.

How to change your mind

Click the round cookie button at the bottom left of any page, or click here. You can switch cookies on or off at any time. We’ll also ask you again every 6 months.

You can also delete cookies in your web browser’s settings. If you block all cookies, signing in and bidding may not work.

Videos and links to other websites

YouTube videos on our site don’t use cookies unless you press play. Links to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and other sites only take you there if you click them, and those sites have their own cookie rules.
